welcome to the world, little one!
my little sister was born yesterday! i've made a list of everything we know about her so far (i'm so excited for her to grow up already so i can learn everything she likes and dislikes!):
- her name is Rita Amélie Armstrong Condé
- "Rita" comes from the rockstar singer Rita Lee
- i'm not sure where "Amélie" is from, but it's beautiful and my mom decided last minute to add it because she's not really a fan of middle names
- she was born with 2,945kgs and 48cm. the tiniest little thing!
- her hair is black and she still didn't open her eyes for pictures so i could see what color they are. me and my other sister (alice, the second oldest) were born with light blue eyes. dante, on the other hand (the second youngest), was born with black eyes! me and dante were born with black hair, but it got blonde as we grew up. alice always had dark hair, and maybe rita will too :)
gabriel, rita's and dante's father, said that as soon as she came out, she pooped on the doctor! that's so funny and i'm glad she felt this comfortable.
my mom said that she's very calm and quiet, and already had a great night of sleep at the hospital. they're having some trouble feeding her but that's normal on the first few days. it's crazy to see how "zen" she is because dante was very eletric when he was born! and he still is our little tornado.
i'm a feminist and very against gendered social norms, but with my siblings i can't help but notice a pattern of different behavior on girls and boys. dante isn't old enough yet to have such strong social norms pushed against him, but still he's the most eletric, messy little boy. all the girls were always "calm and collected" since birth. i didn't think it was a biologic thing until he was born. and i see it with other families too! i don't have such a close up perspective, of course, but you can see the difference when interacting with literal newborn babies. it's crazy!
i'll attach one more picture of rita where she's sticking her tongue for the camera. she's so cute and funny already!
